The Road crash victims have rights as provided for under the motor vehicle insurance (third party risk) act cap 214
- The right to be informed whether the vehicle was insured under section 10 of the act. Thus the victim is entitled to know whether the vehicle was insured. (Police and hospital).
- The third party victim has a right to sue the owner or driver of a vehicle that was involved in a motor accident under section 39 of the act.
- Regulation for the motor vehicle insurance (third party risks) regulations sets the maximum limit payable by an insurance company in compensation to third parties at 1million per person and 10 million for the entire accident.
